Even though Grandmaster Verkerke competed in sport martial arts during the 1970's. He designed the physical application of Seicho Jutsu to be more of a combat art for actual street confrontations.
In 1999 five of Grandmaster Verkerke's students wanted to compete at the Canadian National Ju Jitsu Tournament. Since they have never competed before GM. Verkerke thought it would be a good experience. The below article covers the results
