BECOME A PART OF MARTIAL ARTS HISTORY

Despite the economy and Swine Flu scare that affected Texas in Mid-May of this year, the"World Head of Family Sokeship Council", America's first worldwide grandmasters organization as featured in the books"An Illustrated History of Martial Arts in America" by Emil Farkas and"The World Head of Family Sokeship Council" by Don Warrener, held its Annual world martial arts gathering there. The Council challenged world conditions by summoning the attendance of martial arts notables from around the world to its 16^th Annual gathering in Texas. The event held May 22^nd - 23^rd at the Hyatt Regency Hotel bordering the famed Riverwalk in San Antonio was sponsored by IBC Bank, and hosted by Sensei Phillip and Glenda Spears of Texas. The two day event that received local TV media attention featured award presentations and seminars by some of the world's top martial artists, including Grandmaster Graciela Casillas of California, Professor Gary Dill of Oklahoma, Grandmaster Alexander Retyunskikh and Grandmaster German Popov's Master students from Russia, Grandmaster Mark Shuey of Nevada, Grandmaster Bram Frank of Florida, Grandmaster Gary Wasniewski of England and other world renowned figures. A film preview of Grandmaster Wasniewski's latest picture, "Thunderkick II - The Kill Factor" was also showcased along with the introduction of Jason Sterling, Star of the upcoming film "Black Salt". WHFSC Founder, Grandmaster Frank E. Sanchez was also presented with an award of commendation from Guardian Angels Representative, Rafael Arredondo on behalf of Curtis Sliwa for his and the WHFSC's contributions to martial arts and the local communities. Entertainment for the dinner that culminated the two day affair was provided by professional comedian-hypnotist, Rodney Rash, whose performance was filmed "live" for a future upcoming comedy TV Special.

San Antonio Riverwalk History

The famed San Antonio River walk, or Paseo Del Rio, is a 2 1/2 mile stretch of beautifully landscaped waterfront that features many of San Antonio's most spectacular hotels, restaurants, night clubs, bars, shopping centers and businesses. It is one of the most dynamic tourist attractions in the entire state of Texas, pouring nearly $800 million a year into the local economy. Iit is an amazing and romantic place to visit.
