Planned and established the Faculty of Sports Science & Recreation
at University Technology Mara (UiTM) in 1995. Appointment as the first
Dean of the faculty for 6 years (November 1995 - July 2001). The first
University in Malaysia to conduct courses at Diploma, Degree &
Graduate studies in the following discipline:
- Sports Management
- Leisure Management
- Sports Studies
- Fitness and Health
The establishment of the faculty enables the nation to
produce professionals in all kind of Sports industries. The faculty has
provided expertise and job opportunities in the following fields:
- Managers, administrators/ executives for sport, recreation and
leisure clubs, national or international associations/ federations,
hotels and resorts, factories, sports complexes/ stadium, golf clubs,
sports marketing industries and recreational industries.
- Officers in manufacturing of sporting goods, sports
consultancy firm, entertainment industries, sport tourism industries,
media, parks and tourist center, camping sites and recreation
industries.
- Professional coaches, health officers, fitness, sport
scientists, gym and fitness instructor, aerobic instructors,
physiotherapy at hospitals & clinics. Medical assistant officers
for sport injuries.
